PM Modi Suggests Temporary Shift to Online Learning

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged schools and colleges across the country to consider temporary online classes amid growing concerns linked to the ongoing Iran-US conflict and its impact on global fuel prices and supply chains.

The Prime Minister made the remarks while discussing measures aimed at reducing fuel consumption and minimizing economic pressure caused by the rising tensions in West Asia.

Focus on Fuel Conservation and Digital Alternatives

During his address, PM Modi emphasized the importance of using digital technology and virtual systems to reduce unnecessary travel and fuel usage.

He suggested that educational institutions may adopt online learning arrangements for a limited period, similar to the model used during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Government Encourages Public Participation

The Prime Minister also appealed to citizens to reduce the use of petrol and diesel wherever possible and encouraged the use of public transport, electric vehicles, and carpooling.

He said small collective efforts by citizens can help reduce economic pressure during periods of global uncertainty and rising import costs.

Virtual Meetings and Work-From-Home Also Recommended

Along with online classes, PM Modi advised both government and private offices to prioritize virtual meetings and work-from-home systems whenever possible.

Officials believe such measures could help lower fuel demand and reduce pressure on transportation networks during the ongoing international crisis.

Rising Global Tensions Raise Economic Concerns

The ongoing conflict involving Iran and the United States has triggered concerns over crude oil prices and global supply chains, affecting several countries dependent on imported fuel.

India, being one of the world’s major oil importers, is closely monitoring the situation and exploring precautionary measures to limit economic impact.

Educational Institutions Expected to Review Measures

While no nationwide order regarding school closures or compulsory online classes has been announced, educational institutions are expected to review the suggestions and make decisions based on local conditions and requirements.

Several experts say digital infrastructure developed during the pandemic has made virtual learning more accessible than before.

Conclusion

PM Modi’s appeal for temporary online classes and reduced fuel consumption reflects growing concerns over the economic effects of the Iran-US conflict and rising global energy prices.

Authorities are expected to continue monitoring the situation while encouraging citizens and institutions to adopt precautionary and resource-saving measures.
